First Snow

Our first snow in St. Louis took place on Thanksgiving Day.

Arts, Beats and Lyrics 2010

A few shots from the event.

Thrice the B-Boy

I can't put into words the irony expressed to me with these three paintings next to each other.

One of my fav photos I took

To The Core Baby

More black and white film fun. :)

Sky Blu

I have a few gradient filters that I bought for my Holga. I decided to try one over my lens on my Pentax and this is what came of it.

I Hate Laundry

I really do. I despise doing laundry.
Clothespins on my aunts back porch.
Sometimes clothespins remind me of Back To The Future, where Marty and his dad have a talk about asking Elaine out to the dance. I'm a Back To The Future stan, so ummm.....eff you if that was too random for you to just agree with and keep moving lol

Where The Cool Comes From

From the first couple of shots on my first roll of b&w film. I was tinkering around with the meter, I wasn't sure how it does on b&w film. So, I tested it out in my room with the window open, sunny outside and dark inside. I took two shots; this shot with the trees out of focus and the other the trees are in focus. I liked this one best.

Pentax Spotmatic, 35mm.

Oak Red

I've been asked about blowing this up and framing it for a friend. We'll see. A leaf from one of our oak trees.

The Fire

A single leaf from one of our trees.

What I Do Part III-V

In the kitchen, like usual, whippin' work.
I brightened up one of the pics. It def needed it and it worked.

Berry Pop

Taken again because I had a mishap with the previous roll. Still learning.

What The Hook Gon' Be?

Killing time on my Aunt's back porch. I'm beginning to think it's necessary I have my camera with me at all times.

...And they posed

The horses next door. They were giving me life.

B&W

Just got my first roll of b&w I ever shot back. My Holga is collecting dust, smh.

Kodak film 400ASA. Next time I will buy 200 or 100. It's obviously not made for super sunny days to shoot b&w with 400ASA, just not right. I also learned about contrast, very quickly too from this roll.

My portrait lens came. Tested the clicks and all that and it's all good. Gonna maybe shoot with it tomorrow. It's a Fujinon 55mm I copped off Ebay for $40. Would've been handy during Arts Beats and Lyrics this past Friday, but I digress. Fresh Paint is coming up soon and I cannot wait to shoot there.

My love for film just keeps on growing! Enjoy the pics! Also enjoy some sweet ass shots I took whilst whipping butter one day. I *air humped* when the pics loaded. :)

One small confession....I dropped my Pentax. It fell in the garage, on the concrete. There is a crack in the viewfinder, but it's not the window on the outside, but the inside near the top. Luckily the mirrors didn't crack, that's all I was worried about. It hasn't effected my shots or the way the meter works, so it's all good!

Let's Cool Off

Last pic from Chicago, promise! This is in the garden that trails by Millennium Park. We decided to walk through it and stumbled upon this "coolery" I'll call it. It was soooo hot that day. I just KNEW the water would be warm, considering the black bottom, but nope, it was nice and cool. It was so awesome. Whoever decided to build it there is a genius. I also love how the colors came out and how bright it is. Didn't expect this from my Holga, but it was quite sunny. I'm pretty sure it was 400asa film I used.

Holga, 35mm, July 2010

The Trail and The River

Katy Trail....nowhere near the river so I'm not sure what happened here exactly. The left side shows our first rest stop. I took a pic there and of the field across the road. There was no river at that spot at all. The river was further down on the next stop and I thought I had taken pics inbetween there. Either the film lab flubbed or something wacko happened with advancing the roll and taking the next set of pics. You can see where I double exposed on the left, but not on the right. Odd...odd.

Anywho, Holga, 35mm. June, 2010

The Aquarium's View

At the aquarium, on the front steps. Chicago, July 2010. Holga 35mm.

I Spy

....sound coming from horns and mountains over hills.

Hanging over the railing with my telelens on my Holga 35mm in front of the Hershey store in Downtown Chicago. July 2010.

Tip Top Tap

Downtown Chi. Off-centered....lol. Holga 35mm, telelens. July 2010.

Mozzarella & Colby & Wheat

Mozzarella and Colby and Wheat
Came together for a meet
Ended up in a pan
And in my right hand
For me to eat and eat.

*my poetic skills are obviously elementary but you can't knock me for trying*

What I Do Part II

Munnay Munnay Munnay

Blocka Blocka Blocka
(the only part of that song I know)

"Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up"

I was asked about blowing up the last pic for a friend to have framed for her new digs in NY. We'll see. :)

I Eat Babies For Breakfast Nom Nom

Kidding, but this baby right here, you can't help but smile when you look at him. He's soooooo gorgeous! Yes, you do want to just "eat him up."
